In the heart of the Göta Älv Valley, just over half an hour north of Gothenburg, you will find this museum that is a real medieval gem. With over half a million discoveries, Lödöse is today one of the richest medieval sites in Sweden. Most of the finds were once common objects from everyday medieval life. After almost a millennium underground, they're not so mundane anymore - now they help tell the story of life in the medieval city. Runic inscriptions with warnings, promises of friendship and love bring life to the past. Names carved on tools and personal items tell us who once owned and used them. All the objects on display here once belonged to people who had their moment on earth in medieval Lödöse.
